Feel the sound of the forest
Melt into the mountain scenery in our open-air bath "Seseragi", which overlooks a nearby mountain stream. Bathers can listen to nature's symphony, from birdsong to flowing waters, as they unwind in the soothing warmth. During the day, the surrounding forest paints the bath with dappled sunlight, and at night, enjoy a blanket of stars winking down. Early summer brings glowing fireflies, so no matter the time of year, nature's wonders are waiting to be discovered.

Not seen much in modern Japan, an "irori" hearth used to be the center of home life. Families gathered to eat, talk, and spend quiet time together around its warmth. Trekking & Starwatching in Mother Nature
Asan Kotonami is the perfect home base while you explore the surrounding area, or stay in and watch the sky from our Stargazing Terrace. The closest major peak to our hotel is Mount Daisen, which is a great place to spend a day hiking, but night sky is perhaps our most special feature. Manno-cho has hardly any light pollution, and you can catch many constellations here that are normally obscured from view. In fact, Manno-cho lent its name (styled Mannoucyo) to one of the minor planets discovered by astronomers in 1995.

Asan Kotonami offers a luxurious outdoor onsen experience unlike any other. The open-air portion of the bath overlooks a nearby waterfall, and its gentle melody soothes both body and mind. Riverside Bath Seseragi
In Seseragi, not only can guests enjoy the warm waters of our on-site Miai Onsen, but they can also bathe in the sounds of the forest. From birdsong to the nearby waterfall, the mountain`s symphony soothes both body and soul. Seseragi has many bathing options, with our main open-air stone bath perfect for long relaxation. We also have a deep bath, sauna, and reclining baths. The main wash area is indoors, with an indoor panorama bath as well.

For a more private onsen experience, we offer Nagomi, our reservation-only private open-air bath. Guests can take their time unwinding to the sounds of the forest in the spacious 3 meter outdoor tub, and also enjoy the attached sauna and hot stone bench. Nagomi also boasts comfortable lounge space for a post-bath break.

Asan Mountain Range
The Asan Mountains make up the border between Tokushima and Kagawa, and are mostly wild forests. Mount Daisen, a nearby peak, is the perfect place for mountain hiking.

Panorama Foyer
In our second floor elevator space, you will find the Panorama Foyer which gives a picture view of the mountain valley below Asan Kotonami. A great place to watch the mist rise off the mountains in the morning, or the bamboo forest light-up in the evenings.
Stargazing Terrace
On the roof of Asan Kotonami, we have created a special place for starwatchers. Stepping onto the terrace is like stepping into another world; surrounded by dark walls, your gaze is lifted upward to the breathtaking expanse of the sky. With almost no light pollution in the mountains, on clear nights you can see your favorite constellations or catch a glimpse of the Milky Way.
Dog Run
Part of our Satoyama Hutte is dedicated to our furry guests, where they can run and play. With a soft wood chip groundcover and plenty of space, your pet will have a great time staying with us.
Waterside Salon
Guests staying at Asan Kotonami with their pet dogs will check-in at our Waterside Salon located in the Satoyama Hutte. Each table in the salon has a convenient hook for a leash.
Private Bath Nagomi
With pure onsen waters from Miai Onsen, our private open-air bath Nagomi has a 3-meter stone tub as well as a sauna, hot stone bench, and roomy lounge space.
